"I guarantee my next dive will come much sooner. " That was my quote from my last dive log, just over five months ago. So much for my guarantee. Once again, life got the best of me and kept me out of the water. I did acquire a new lens, tripod and the like, so topside photography has occupied more of my time, for certain.
Anyway, on to the dives. With my trip to the great Pacific Northwest around the corner, I needed to get in the water to shake off the rust on my underwater equipment as well as make sure I was still a diver. Kendra and I did a shore dive on Sunday at South Monastery, where indeed, equipment and underwater photography was a bit awkward. I decided to shoot macro and struggled to get any nice images. The first shot of the slideshow was from this dive.
Feeling adequately warmed up, we did a kayak dive the next day and I switched to the fisheye lens for some wide angle . I was definitely feeling more in my element and was quite happy with the last shot of the slideshow. I can always count on anemones giving me nice subject matter to dial in the exposure for the background. |
