Two dives off the Beach Hopper today. First dive was at the old site of the Anchor Farm. I never dove this spot until today, and it sure is a hot-spot for nudibranchs. Not only did I see seven or eight species on the dive, but I cannot recall seeing so many large specimens of the clown nudibranch (Triopha catalinae) and the festive triton (Tritonia festiva). The second dive was at McAbee...a site I dive from shore. One may wonder why anyone would spend money to go on a boat to dive a site so close to shore. Today, I found out why. As this beautiful jelly was hanging around the boat, I found myself stuck with my 105mm lens and the perfect wide angle subject. After futiley snapping away, I boarded the boat and met no resistance by crew or passengers (in fact they encouraged me to get back in the water) to switch to wide angle and hop back in. Hop back in I did, and the results are here. Doing this from shore would have been virtually impossible. Thanks!
